While there, she worked with a number of talented artists, and the experience inspired her to try and forge something of her own. At the Laldie Haans craft festival in 2016, Fiona had her first taste of fused glass work. Then, after a weekend course in 2017, Fiona decided it was time to purchase a kiln to start experimenting with this art form on her own. She has since expanded her skills and knowledge, erecting a studio in 2019, and working with her husband Steven and daughter Daisy to build Flow Glass. Today, Fiona and Steven create glass pieces inspired by the Orkney landscapes, especially the beaches, and have even included some sand from Scapa Beach in a few of their designs.
