About Us
After four years of studying at Robert Gordon’s Institute of Technology, June struggled to find a job in her native city. She decided to take a risk and start a business instead – a craft shop. Around that time her fiancé David just started up his own garage on Broomhill road, but the office premises were too big for him. June decided to convert the unused room into a shop. Juniper Crafts first opened to the public at the end of November 1971, and developed into a thriving local business with the help of her husband.
The shop moved premises from Broomhill Road to Holburn Street before making its permanent home on 35 Belmont Street. Even though it wasn’t always easy, June and her family's passion and years of hard work made Juniper the successful business we are today.
You won’t find June in the shop these days. She’s enjoying well-deserved retirement with her husband David. Juniper was left in the hands of her son Jamie, who spent many years of his childhood helping out. He now carries on the original traditions and values that have seen the shop succeed for over 50 years.

Here at Juniper we are committed to fostering a close and thriving local community by supporting shop local programs and providing the best possible customer experience and care. We are also proud to have created a relaxed and friendly setting here in store, so that our customers can enjoy the shopping experience to the fullest.
We aim to source Scottish and British made products wherever possible, taking pride in uplifting the talented artists and creators of our nation. We are also honoured to have stocked the works of a variety of local artists and crafters over the years, creating a hub of culture and connection.

We stock a large selection of traditional and contemporary style jewellery in sterling silver, gold, stainless steel and more, as well as a varied range of unique giftware, homeware, wall art and furniture.
We carry leading Scottish brands such as: Sheila Fleet, Linda Macdonald, Aurora, Celina Rupp, Highland Stoneware, Isle of Skye Candle Co, Caithness Glass, Dawn Maciocia, Belltrees Forge, Darach Gifts and Whisky Frames. We also stock other leading brands such as: Nomination Italy, Hot Diamonds, Coeur De Lion, Voyage, DCUK Ducks, Katie Loxton and many more!
